Towncrest Pharmacy to host COVID-19 vaccine clinic for 65+ Feb. 26 and 27 in Solon by appointment only

Towncrest Pharmacy, located in Iowa City and Solon, is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Solon United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 122 N. West Street, Solon.

The clinic is reserved for individuals who are 65 years of age or older and is by appointment only. Only individuals being vaccinated may come into the center unless assistance is needed. Insurance cards and a driver’s license or government-issued ID are required at the time of appointment.

Towncrest Pharmacy is part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. The program is part of the Federal government’s strategy to expand access to COVID-19 vaccines for all. The program is based on the available vaccine supply and works with select retail pharmacy locations providing COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals. As vaccine availability increases over time, the program will expand.

The clinic is in collaboration with Johnson County Emergency Management Agency, Johnson County Public Health, Solon United Methodist Church, the City of Solon, Solon Senior Advocates and Solon community members.
